Project Description:
Water Street was retained by Golder Associates (through contractual arrangement with the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development) to develop an options assessment for stormwater management options at the Britannia Mine. This work was part of a series of studies that have been undertaken to manage the discharge of contaminated runoff from the former Britannia Mine, which was closed in 1974.
Water Street’s scope included the development of a series of stormwater management options aimed at reducing the contaminant loadings to Howe Sound. Conceptual designs and construction cost estimates were developed for a range of options, and recommendations provided to the client for further consideration.
