2024 Charitable Donations
At Water Street Engineering, we believe in the importance of giving back to the communities in which we live and work. In 2024, we proudly committed 1% of our total professional fees to support local Canadian charities, with selections made directly by our team.
This year, we had the privilege of donating to five incredible organizations. See below for the charities that matter to our team and the impact they have on our community.
- Doctors without Borders
Provides emergency medical humanitarian care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. They provide assistance based on need, regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion or political affiliation. They also speak out about the suffering we witness while carrying out their work. - Downtown Eastside Neighborhood House
Their mandate is to provide programming and educational, leadership, social, and recreational opportunities to residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside - Downtown East Side Woman’s Centre
The mission of DEWC is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for self-identifying women (cis, trans, 2S), from all walks of life, who live and/or work in the Downtown Eastside. To achieve this goal, DEWC provides supportive surroundings with meals, counseling, advocacy, and programs which nurture and empower members. - Society for Canadian Woman in Science and Technology
A not-for-profit society that specializes in improving the presence and influence of women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in Canada. SCWIST promotes participation and advancement through education, networking, mentorship, collaborative partnerships and advocacy. - Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society
Is Canada’s only charity dedicated to the protection of public land, freshwater and ocean with a strong national and regional presence across the country. Working in a way that respects the sovereignty and leadership of Indigenous nations, we are focused on conserving nature to respond to the dual crises of accelerated biodiversity loss and climate change.
