2022-2023

LOCATION:

Langley, BC

CLIENT

Township of Langley

Project Description:

Water Street was retained by the Township of Langley to provide detailed designs for the repair and stabilization of an eroded section of the Salmon River located upstream of the 56th Avenue Bridge. The localized channel erosion posed a risk to the downstream bridge structure and required remediation and repair. The Township requested options for bank stabilization including bio-engineering methods, channel realignment, and traditional slope stabilization measures.

Water Street provided conceptual and detailed designs, as well as support with the tendering and construction including bid evaluation, field inspections, and contract administration.

After completion of the project, the work resulted in a stream crossing resilient to 200-year flood levels with habitat complexity structures integrated into the design.
