Project Description:

Water Street Engineering Ltd. (Water Street) was retained by the City of Maple Ridge to develop a water servicing plan for the Albion area as part of their densification strategy. The City considered three buildout concepts for the area, involving different modes of densification, such as focusing on townhouses or low-rise apartments. The plan also accounted for the impact of the new provincial Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH) regulations, which enable increased density in single-family residential areas.

Water Street’s scope involved analyzing the potential impacts of densification on the existing water infrastructure, including the 104 Ave Pump Station and the Albion Reservoir facility. The study developed population and water demand projections for each buildout concept and identified the required infrastructure upgrades to ensure reliable service.
