City of Courtenay Flood Management Plan

Water Street was retained by Ebbwater Consulting Inc. to provide support with the City of Courtenay Flood Management Plan. The goals of the Flood Management Plan were to better understand the current and future flood hazards, evaluate existing flood protection infrastructure, and inform preliminary decisions related to risk mitigation actions and increased resiliency.

Water Street provided engineering support to evaluate the existing flood protection infrastructure and provide recommendations for new and existing structural mitigation options. The scope of work included site inspections of the existing flood protection structures and development of conceptual designs, costing, and implementation timelines for the recommended structural improvement options.

The recommended actions for new or upgraded flood protection structures were summarized in a Dike Master Plan that included recommended timelines and comparative costing.
